Frederic H. Mayerson
Frederic Mayerson is the Founder, Chairman and Managing General Partner of Maywic Select Investments, a venture firm focusing on growth companies and the Founder and Principal of The Frederic H. Mayerson Group, a diversified investment firm.
For the last 35 years, Fred has been involved in ventures focusing on consumer goods, communications, restaurants, toys and juvenile products, outsourcing, and corporate services - including having served on the Board of Directors of Peloton, Chi-Chi’s Mexican Restaurants, Build-a-Bear Workshop, Cap Toys and numerous others. He has founded and acquired ownership in a number of companies, public and private.
Fred also has owned and managed prime office, shopping center, and retail space and continues to be active in real estate. He was Chairman of United Sports Ventures, an owner of minor league baseball and hockey teams that won six championships. He has co-produced twelve Tony Award winning Broadway musicals and a Pulitzer Prize-Winning drama. Throughout his career he has served on the Boards of Directors of several companies, public and private.
A graduate of the University of Michigan Law School with an undergraduate degree from Miami University, he received a Fellowship to the World Court in The Hague and practiced law in New York City before returning to Cincinnati to begin his business career. He is a member of several professional and charitable organizations, especially those concerning children and education. Fred's affiliations have included: Director of U.S. Bank Board of Advisors, Trustee of the Mayerson Foundation, Member of The League of American Theatres and Producers, and Trustee of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Human Rights, and Member of the Advisors of the Korey Stringer Institute of the National Football League. He has run the Montreal Marathon, raced as a licensed NASCAR driver, and continues to enjoy and compete in a wide range of other sporting activities.
